Yesterday, the ever-whimsical and always entertaining folks at MB&F launched the brand's first podcast series. The new show is called "Tales From The Tribe," and each episode forms around Max Büsser's exploration of watchmaking as art as Max chats with a friend from the brand's tribe.
The first two episodes are now live, with episode 1 featuring a conversation with Wen Hsieh, a notable venture capitalist. In episode 2, Max speaks with Todd Searle, an author and documentary film director with a deep passion for watchmaking and the sorts of creations that MB&F is known for. Both episodes are around 30 minutes long, are very well produced, and offer an interesting and diverse conversation that encircles watchmaking via the life stories of Max and his guests.
Look, we all know the world is not short on podcasts for you to check out, but I really like the idea of porting MB&F's curiosity-based philosophy into something as conventional as a simple conversation between friends, and Max offers a horological rudder for the storytelling that helps to keep the conversation sharp and purposeful. We've had the chance to chat with Max several times over the years, from early Hodinkee Radio to his own episode of Talking Watches, and his natural curiosity, warm personality, and intense focus should make for great podcasting.
You can find a 1-minute teaser for the show here, and you can find and subscribe to the feed for the show via just about any podcast provider via this link. Max and the team have plans to run a new episode every month until the end of the year.
